Privacy Policy
Universal Scanner is made by ProgramPal Pty Ltd ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Universal Scanner app for iPhone.
The short version: we don't collect any of your data. Everything the app recognises is processed on your iPhone, and nothing is sent to us.
Camera and photos
The app uses your camera to recognise text and codes in real time, using Apple's on-device VisionKit and Vision technology. Images from the camera are not saved, uploaded or shared. When you choose a photo or screenshot to scan, it's read on your iPhone only. The app sees only the photos you pick and never your wider photo library.
What the app finds
Recognised details, such as phone numbers, addresses, websites and dates, stay on your iPhone. They're shared only when you choose an action, for example opening a website in your browser, calling a number or opening an address in Maps. That information then goes to the app you chose, under that app's own privacy terms. "Search Product" and "Search Web" open a Google search in your browser.
Contacts, Calendar and Reminders
The app saves a contact or calendar event only when you ask it to, using Apple's standard screens. To create a reminder, iOS asks for your permission first. We can't read your contacts, calendar or reminders, and we never send them anywhere.
History
If History is turned on in Settings, the app keeps a list of items you've acted on. It's stored only on your iPhone. You can delete entries, clear it or turn it off at any time. Deleting the app deletes the history.
Purchases
Subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple. We don't receive your name, email or payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to those transactions.
No tracking, ads or analytics
The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking tools, and doesn't connect to any server we run.
Children
The app doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date. If we ever start collecting data, we'll say so here and in the App Store before that version is released.
